THE ART SPOT
Joanne and Bruce Hunter

Offer your schools and organizations the exciting experience of
an Arts residency with Bruce and Joanne Hunter – award
winning visual artists, founders and owners of The Art Spot,
graduates of Pratt Institute, named as Art Advocates for the
Millennium by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts. The
Hunters facilitate projects with children that integrate directly
with curriculum topics.
Excelling at designing custom projects for individual
classrooms or entire school populations, combining visual arts
with any academic curriculum, Bruce and Joanne ignite their
student’s creativity and artistic expression.
You may mix and match a variety of projects in a day’s or
week’s residency. Please inquire about opportunities for the
Hunters to facilitate any specific art projects your school might
already have in mind.
Plex Murals
Create a back-painted plexi-glass mural with
the Hunters. Choose your curriculum theme and your students
will research the topic, design and paint a mural that your
school will be proud to hang in their hallway. An exciting
collaborative (cooperative) project that fosters creative
collaboration among students.
Mosaic Murals
A wonderful opportunity for your students to
create large scale artwork based on any curriculum. They will
learn how to present graphic images and work in scale, using
colored tiles in this project. Students will love working with
their peers to create a lasting piece of artwork for their school.
Other Project Choices:Choosing from a very broad range of art– sculpture, painting, printmaking, etc.
