"Struggle for Freedom"-A Collective Consciousness Production, (Grades 7 - 12)

This theatre piece, written and directed by Dexter J. Singleton, Executive Director of Collective Consciousness, relives the life and times of nine historical civil rights figures, including Dr.Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Thurgood Marshall and others. Through stirring monologues, scenes, and vignettes, all of these characters are brought to life by three actors. This production contains gospel music and other songs made popular by the era. Length: 45 minutes
