"I'M JUST A SUPERHERO"
Violence Prevention Theatre

I'm Just a Superhero educates students about
the impact of bullying and the behavioral choices that all students make--bullies,
targets and bystanders. This piece is a great addition to violence prevention
education programs and explorations of responsible citizenship. The program
includes the play and a facilitated discussion with the audience, followed
by simultaneous pairs of small group workshops, each facilitated by two
actors.
I'm Just a Superhero (Grade 3-6)
I'm Just a Superhero, a three-person play written and directed by Dexter
J. Singleton, is a day in the life of Loni, a new fifth grader, and her
encounters with a school bully. After an attempt to "pay back"
her antagonist, she is thrust into a world of her favorite
comic book heroes, The Gamma Team. Through these adventures, she learns
the ultimate lessons of self acceptance and courage.
