Flock Theater, under the leadership of Director Derron Wood, offers unique educational programming for a range of ages and venues extending from work with incarcerated youth to residencies with the Eugene O' Neil Memorial Theatre to work with schools throughout Connecticut. Programs delve into social behavior and issues. Flock Theatre is also the producer of “Shakespeare in the Arboretum” in New London, Connecticut. Flock's unique programs, specially designed for very young children, were developed to share ideas and generate solutions to familiar issues of social concern.


The Traveling Trunk Show with Chris and Stu (Grades Pre-K-3)


This interactive performance consists of two puppeteers and two puppet characters, Chris and Stu, who act out real-life situations familiar to children. Their thought-provoking and sometimes humorous scenes, played out with the puppeteers in full view of the audience, include topics such as Making New Friends, Cutting in Line, Cooperating in the Classroom and others. The puppet characters elicit responses from the audience about making good choices over bad choices, the feelings of the characters involved and stressing the importance of manners and good listening skills. Length: 45 minutes


Mouse Mask Workshop (Grades K-3)

In this interactive workshop students will make Mouse Masks from paper bags.  They will use their masks in acting out the story of the Pied Piper and learn about differences and similarities.
