Dennis Waring And Susan Rosano Music and Movement Move And Groove NEW Moving to rhythm is a natural universal human tendency. There is actually no need to learn specific dance steps in order to fully express one’s self through movement. This fun hands-on workshop allows volunteers to play instruments while others move creatively as a group. Performer and ethnomusicologist Dennis Waring teaches how to play characteristic rhythms from Africa, Latin America, and Asia, while expressive arts specialist Susan Rosano demonstrates how the feeling of the various international beats inspires different movement and gesture. Through movement and drumming circles, Susan and Dennis emphasize cooperation, group interaction, spontaneous creativity and freedom of expression. Join the fun!
