Arensky Piano Trio

Arenskiy Piano Trio Photo

The Arensky Trio is a polished and passionate group of musicians who delight and inspire all. The Arensky Piano Trio was formed in 2005 as a tribute to the lesser, but still masterful, pianist and composer Anton Stepanovich Arenskiy. The trio aims to bring the music of the composer for which it is named to a higher level of knowledge, one concert at a time. The Arensky Piano Trio will take the great, well-known masters and their works and deliver satisfying heartfelt musical performances.

Peter and the Wolf- Prokofiev (Grades K-6)

In this classic tale, each character in the story is given its own music played by a certain orchestral instrument. Listen as a brave boy, Peter, cunningly outwits a bad wolf. The story will be read by a narrator. Meet the crafty cat, an unfortunate duck, a grumpy grandfather, and the carefree courageous bird as the musicians interpret this playful piece. Length: 45 Minutes

Carnival of Animals- Saint Saens (Grades K-4)

This delightful work, featuring musical depictions of various animals will delight children of all ages. One of Saint-Saens' most famous works,"Carnival of the Animals," is a classic example of program music -- music that attempts to describe or depict a visual image, their subjects, and images from nature. The images, such as birds or the wind, are illustrated by imitating their sound or motion through various compositional techniques. What visual images do you think Saint- Saens had in mind when he wrote "Carnival of the Animals?" Length: 45 minutes
